Center of Technological Diffusion of the Wood

This new Technology Center of Wood and Furniture of Catalonia is located in the industrial park “La Carretera de la Galera”, in the Municipality of La Senia, occupying a prime position off the main road near the city center.

It proposes a shell envelope in different spaces and proportions purposes. This shell highlights the dimensions, it becomes transparent and open to public access, south facing and therefore protected from the prevailing winds. It also seeks the maximum tightness, folds and closes on itself to technical access road north orientation, thus reducing greatly the incidence of wind, so characteristic of this latitude.

This shell contains in itself a double conception, first dual combination between tradition wood inside and outside contemporary metal coating, and secondly the effect is through the building exterior to interior, moving from an “object” attraction bright as mirror inserted into a large field of olive trees to a relaxed setting that gives the interior paneling of wood.
