Description

The place, of small dimensions and strong pending to the east, requires using a difficult strategy to implement the School. It has been decided to minimize the levels and make the minimum circulatory paths as easy as possible.

The Primary classroom building takes the volume of two floors, parallel to the access road above a large platform at level -1 of common spaces: porch, gym and dining room and playgrounds. This platform communicates directly and visually with the main access.

Pre-School‘s classrooms, with their own access, takes the lowest area of the plot, level -1, facing south and in contact with the forest.

The functional program of the Teaching Department has been scrupulously respected in terms of dependencies and general organization. Even so, all the spaces have been adapted to the demands of the methodologies of the educational project La Mirada School, favoring flexibility, compartmentalization, openings and accessibility to the outside, enhancing the new learning spaces.

The volumetry is based on the following points:

  • Volumetric fragmentation reducing their presence and facilitating the landscape integration.
  • Interior spaces opening to the outside are generated by introducing light and views in the corridors.
  • Specific volumetry in the classrooms of children reducing the size to small personalized modules per course can assign a name to each of them.
