Les Clisques Primary School

This proposal extends the boundary of the gaming platform of the current school to the west, with the aim of obtaining a central surface according to the required measures and minimizing earthworks of a site with lots of rock. In addition, a two-tier arrangement splits the program providing early childhood education and its complementary outdoor spaces, closer to the ride height of the sea, and the primary, more in touch with the track and playground.

A central body, detached from the bottom by a small horizontal opening allows light to enter the interior circulation space, divide both sides of the center, kindergarten and primary. It articulates the whole front and offering a lineup similar to the surrounding buildings, reinterpreting the positioning of the old school and giving it an equipment character and also permeability between the upper and lower areas. The whole forms, with supporting units, a figure in “U”, which relates the courtyard with classrooms, multipurpose space, support spaces, porch, access, etc., and protected from the prevailing winds.

The main entrance is located in the south, in the open space formed between the plot and the streets Unió and Nou. This place is a square, other as the existing promenade along the sea road. Is the waiting area for parents. Furthermore, architectural point for identification and entry to the new equipment. An external staircase access to the entrance porch and the primary area, materializes in an open, generous and connecting the two levels linked to the same school use.
