The project consists on the reform and rehabilitation of an old fire station, dating from 1929, to transform it into a Museum, Casal, Center for the Formation, Prevention Dissemination and a Expositions Center.
The equipment has a dimension of 24×24 meters and two floors of height. The building is built around a double-height centerpiece and is gabled roof. Around this space with “U” form, there are the rooms.
The relationship between the building and its urban surroundings is greatly improved and the tower is signified by the transformation of the recast fixtures into illuminated windows, which together with the upper skylight make a very visible urban landmark along C / Tamarit.
In turn, an asset valuation is carried out and some elements are reinterpreted using traditional techniques and materials.
The main actions are based on the redistribution of the administrative uses, freeing the spaces of floor plant to endow the expository uses of a free and versatile form. The central space is also reorganized and the communications nuclei are improved for compliance.
The environmental performance is another of the key points of the project, seeking the minimum energy expenditure and increasing the levels of comfort.
